FG to Begin Repairs on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Tuesday

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency announced that the Federal Ministry of Works will commence repair work on the outbound Lagos carriageway of the Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway starting Tuesday. The project, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Works, will be executed by CBC Global Civil & Construction Company.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the agency's Public Relations Officer, stated that temporary traffic management measures, including lane restrictions and controlled diversions, will be implemented to ensure safety during the construction. Motorists are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time, as delays are expected, especially during peak traffic periods.

The agency will collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Police Force, and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to manage traffic effectively. The repairs are deemed necessary due to recurring road crashes and prolonged gridlock at the Kara Bridge, which has previously resulted in fatalities and injuries.
