FRSC Supports Tinubu’s CNG and EV Initiative for Jobs

Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicles (EVs). During an interview at the 2026 Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU), he described the initiative as a significant catalyst for economic growth and job creation, transforming Nigeria’s transport sector.

Mohammed stated that the program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on climate action and environmental sustainability. He praised President Tinubu for promoting cleaner energy in transportation and highlighted the initiative's role in attracting private sector investments.

Mohammed noted that the initiative has led to the establishment of assembly plants for electric and CNG vehicles, creating jobs in manufacturing, engineering, and technology. He linked the initiative to ongoing infrastructure projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, asserting that these developments will enhance Nigeria's transportation network and support long-term economic growth.
