FRSC Deploys 1,500 Personnel for Sokoto Eid Patrols

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of over 1,500 personnel for special patrol operations in Sokoto ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. This initiative aims to ensure safer roads and reduce traffic crashes during the festive period.

ACM Shoba Akand disclosed this information during a visit to the Correspondents' Chapel at the zonal headquarters in Sokoto. The operations will commence upon the directive from the FRSC headquarters in Abuja and will involve 1,250 regular marshals alongside special marshals, patrol vehicles, and ambulances to guarantee free traffic flow and prompt rescue services.

Akand emphasized the commitment of the FRSC to effective service delivery, focusing on intelligence-led operations and public enlightenment. He urged motorists to obey traffic regulations and avoid dangerous driving practices during the festive season.

Additionally, Akand called for the establishment of traffic management agencies in states to complement FRSC efforts in reducing road crashes.
