FRSC Announces Nationwide Patrol for Eid el-Fitr 2026

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated a nationwide deployment of personnel for the 2026 Eid el-Fitr special patrol, which will take place from March 17 to March 22, 2026. This operation aims to ensure safe travel for motorists during the festive period, characterized by heavy vehicular movement as Muslims travel to celebrate with family.

FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Moham emphasized that the special patrol aligns with the agency's statutory responsibility to promote safer roads across Nigeria. The operation will involve increased visibility through patrols, deployment of rescue teams, and public enlightenment campaigns to guide motorists.

The FRSC will maintain 24-hour patrols along critical road corridors and collaborate with various security and emergency agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Fire Service, to ensure rapid response to emergencies. The agency will also utilize its traffic broadcast platform, Traffic Radio 107.1 FM, to provide real-time traffic updates and travel advisories throughout the operation.
