Fubara Swears in New Commissioners After Screening

On Wednesday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State swore in five new commissioners at the state government house in Port Harcourt, following a rigorous screening process conducted by the Rivers State House of Assembly. The commissioners, who took their oaths of office, include Mr.

Tony Bellgam, Prof. Templ Nwofor, Dr.

Peter Nwagor, Mr. Leku Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.

Governor Fubara expressed confidence in their capabilities, stating that they had passed the screening process and were deemed fit to serve in the state executive council. He outlined the expectations for their performance and urged them to deliver their best to the state.

Additionally, it was reported that the House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhul, rejected four out of nine commissioner nominees due to poor performance and inconsistencies in their documentation during the screening process. Governor Fubara is expected to submit a new list of nominees for the state legislature to consider.
