Fubara Inspects New Commissioners’ Quarters in Rivers State

On Thursday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State inspected the construction of new residential quarters for commissioners, located within the Rainbow House Estate along the Trans Amadi Industrial Layout in Port Harcourt. He disclosed that the project, being handled by Shaanxi Construction Engineering Nigeria Limited, is set for completion in November 2026.

The initiative is part of the state administration's effort to eliminate the heavy financial burden associated with renting accommodations for senior officials. Fubara emphasized that the new quarters would provide adequate security and facilitate efficient office productivity by allowing officials to live together in a secure environment.

The governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the current expenditure on rent and highlighted the importance of this project in saving costs for the state government. The construction consists of 25 units, each with six-bedroom flats, and will incorporate multiple security arrangements, including police presence on-site.
