Rivers State Secretariate Reconstruction to Finish by 2027

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara declared that the state secretariat complex is undergoing extensive reconstruction, with a completion target set for the first quarter of 2027. During a tour of the site on a Monday, Fubara confirmed the progress of the renovations, which include multiple high-rise buildings.

The complex, originally constructed in 1970 shortly after the state's creation in 1967, consists of a 17-storey point block, a 10-storey podium block, and three seven-storey buildings. The renovations aim to comprehensively transform and upgrade the entire complex, enhancing structural integrity, office layouts, and modern facilities to meet the demands of contemporary administration.

Fubara emphasized the importance of inspecting the work personally to ensure quality and expressed confidence that the project would be completed as promised.
