Governor Fubara Submits 2026-2028 Fiscal Framework

On Thursday, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara submitted the 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Rivers Assembly. The submission was announced by the Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhul, during an emergency plenary session.

This marked the first plenary session of the Assembly in three months, following a period of adjournment. The Assembly had previously focused on screening commission nominees submitted by Governor Fubara.

The House is scheduled to reconvene on January 15 after adjourning due to the commencement of impeachment proceedings against the governor. The deliberation on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework will take place at a later date, as the Assembly postponed discussions on this matter.
