Fubara Submits 2026-2028 Fiscal Framework to Rivers Assembly

On Thursday morning, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara submitted the 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Rivers Assembly. The submission was made during an emergency session, which marked the Assembly's first plenary session in three months.

The letter from Governor Fubara was read by the Speaker of the House, Martin Chike Amaewhul. This session followed a previous meeting on January 8, where the Assembly had initiated impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara but subsequently adjourned without reconvening as scheduled on January 15.

During the Thursday session, lawmakers deferred the consideration of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework to a later date.
