Fubara Commits to Housing Development in Rivers State

On Wednesday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State emphasized the critical role of the housing sector in societal growth and economic development. Speaking at the South South Real Estate Investment Summit 2026 in Port Harcourt, he reiterated his administration's commitment to partnering with stakeholders to address housing deficits and improve living standards for the people of Rivers State.

Fubara highlighted the housing sector as a vital driver of economic growth and urban transformation, noting the vast investment opportunities within the sector. He called for the creation of an enabling environment for investors and stakeholders through policy reforms and infrastructure development, as well as stronger public-private partnerships.

The summit featured Mr. Mustapha Njie, Group Managing Director of Taf Africa, who stressed the need for innovative strategies in the housing sector, including promoting access to finance and eliminating bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Queen Tekai, representing the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, noted ongoing efforts to support housing development initiatives across Nigeria.
