FUD Expels 20 Students Over Exam Malpractice

The Senate of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUD) has expelled 20 students and rusticated 15 others for involvement in examination malpractice. This decision was made following recommendations submitted by the Senate Committee on Examination Misconduct for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the university's Director of Public Affairs, Abdullahi Yahaya Bello. The statement noted that the disciplinary measures were approved after a review of the committee's report investigating cases of examination misconduct within the institution.

The report, signed by the Director of Academic Affairs, Nora Dannatta, indicated that the affected students were drawn from various faculties across the university. Additionally, the Senate reviewed other cases and found two students not culpable after investigations, while three students received written warnings.

This action comes amid increasing disciplinary measures being taken by Nigerian universities against students found guilty of academic and non-academic misconduct.
