Fuel Subsidy, A Good Reform Done Wrongly – Ezekwesili

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, criticized the Nigerian government's handling of fuel subsidy removal, calling it a "good reform done wrongly." Speaking at a panel discussion during the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Enugu, Ezekwesili emphasized the need for research and development to drive Nigeria's prosperity. She expressed concerns about the government's policies, stating that undoing the damage caused by wrong decisions would be challenging.

Ezekwesili highlighted the negative impact of poorly implemented policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidy, which she believes has contributed to rising inflation. She urged the judiciary to resist rewarding political elites and instead focus on serving the interests of the poor masses.
