Ologbondiyan Critiques Tinubu on Fuel Subsidy Removal

Kola Ologbondiyan, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily that the ADC's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, does not plan to revert Nigeria to its previous fuel subsidy system. Ologbondiyan criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for removing the fuel subsidy, warning that it would negatively impact Nigerians.

He called for a review of the subsidy regime, asserting that the current situation has led to fuel prices soaring from about ₦200 before May 29, 2023, to ₦1,300. Ologbondiyan emphasized that Atiku's proposals aim to address production costs to alleviate the financial burden on Nigerians, contrasting them with the political arguments surrounding the subsidy removal.

He expressed skepticism about the Tinubu administration's willingness to engage with Atiku's proposals, questioning their commitment to understanding the issues at hand.
