APC Disqualifies 56 Aspirants for Rivers Assembly Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) disqualified 56 aspirants from participating in the upcoming Rivers State Assembly primaries. The disqualification was announced by the Rivers State House of Assembly Screening Committee, chaired by Murain Ajibola, which conducted the screening exercise on May 9 and 10, with the report signed on May 10.

Out of 98 individuals screened, 33 aspirants were cleared, while the remaining failed to meet the necessary requirements. This decision is expected to heighten political tensions within the Rivers APC, particularly among members linked to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Notable disqualified aspirants include Chijok Ihunwo, Victor Oko, Jumbo Sokari Goodboi, and former governorship candidate Tony Cole. The implications of this disqualification could significantly impact the dynamics of the party ahead of the primaries.
