Premier League Clubs' Record £3.49bn Transfer Spend

In the 2026 summer transfer window, Premier League clubs collectively spent a record £3.49bn on new players while generating £2.17bn from player sales, resulting in a net spend of £1.32bn. Liverpool topped the net-spending table with £219.4m, primarily due to the acquisition of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for £123m.

Ipswich, the highest-ranked promoted club, followed with a £190.7m net spend, reflecting their aggressive recruitment strategy. Tottenham recorded a £176m net spend, with Sandro Tonali's £100m transfer from Newcastle as their headline deal.

Arsenal's net spend was £136.6m, highlighted by Bruno Guimaraes' £75m signing from Newcastle. Coventry, another promoted club, finished fifth with £129.8m net spend, including a £26m purchase of Caleb Yirenkyi from Nordsjaelland.

Manchester City, despite being the biggest gross spenders at £440.3m, had a net spend of £125.4m after significant sales. Manchester United's net spend reached £118m, with Carlos Baleba as their biggest signing at £70m.
