Isale Eko Union Defends Eyo Heritage Against Film Misrepresentation

The Isale Eko Descendants Union, represented by chairman Kazeem Adeniji, acted to protect the Eyo masquerade's cultural heritage following the release of the film "Gangs of Lagos" in 2023, which they accused of defaming and misrepresenting their traditions. The union initiated legal action on May 30, 2023, against the Lagos State Attorney General and the Lagos State Film Video Censor Board.
