Hashim Critiques Tinubu's Strategy on Nigeria's Security Crisis

Gbenga Hashim condemned the recent wave of killings in Kaduna, Zamfara, Plateau, and the abduction of citizens in Kebbi State, including a High Court judge, in a statement released on Tuesday. He urged the Federal Government to urgently overhaul Nigeria’s security architecture, reclaim the initiative from terrorists, and adopt a proactive approach to prevent attacks.

Hashim stated that over 30,000 innocent people have been killed in the first three years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, with more than 3.7 million people displaced and living in IDP camps. He described the situation as a national emergency that threatens national unity, increases poverty, and damages Nigeria’s international reputation.

Hashim emphasized the need for a comprehensive national security strategy that includes intelligence superiority, precision military operations, and effective border security. He criticized the current reactive security response and called for leadership capable of winning the war against terrorism, stating that condolences are inadequate to stop the killings.
