GCSS Borokiri Wins 2026 NLNG Science Contest in Rivers

GCSS Borokiri emerged as the winner of the 2026 NLNG Science Contest held in Rivers State, achieving a score of 57.189 points. The contest, organized by NLNG in partnership with the Rivers State Ministry of Education and the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, featured seven participating schools.

Niger Delta Science School (NDSS) secured second place with 49.135 points, while Enitonia High School took third with 47.686 points. Other participating schools included Government Secondary School Eneka, Community Secondary School Rumumasi, Nigerian Navy Secondary School Borokiri, and Comprehensive High School Alesa.

Winners received various prizes, including science laboratories, textbooks, and laptops. Sophia Horsfal, NLNG's General Manager for External Relations and Sustainable Development, highlighted the contest's role in fostering scientific knowledge and innovation.

Dr. Peter Nwagor, Rivers State Commissioner for Education, commended NLNG for its commitment to advancing education and scientific development in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for investment in knowledge and technology.
