Abdulmumin Attahiru Abubakar Wins APC House Ticket

Abdulmumin Attahiru Abubakar, brother of Gen. Abdulsalami, secured the APC House of Representatives ticket for the 2026 elections by winning the primary election with a total of 650 votes.

His closest rival, Mr. Nmaa, garnered 271 votes, while Mr.

Shuaibu Mairago received 311 votes. The election was conducted across 11 wards in the constituency, and Abdubakar was subsequently declared the winner.

In a related development, Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmud won the APC primary election for the Lapai federal constituency, achieving 8,559 votes. His opponents included Mr.

Sadiqu Mustapha, who scored 395 votes, and Mr. Mahawiya Yusuf, who received 247 votes.

This election was held across 10 wards in the constituency, and Mahmud was declared the winner. Additionally, Prof.

Yakubu Auna emerged victorious in the APC primary election for the Magama Rijau federal constituency.
