GEN Nigeria and Tripoint Travel Launch GEC+ Africa Competition

GEN Nigeria, in partnership with Tripoint Travel, concluded the Nigerian leg of the GEC+ Africa Regional Competition in Lagos, where 10 innovative entrepreneurs pitched their businesses. The top three entrepreneurs selected will represent Nigeria at the GEC Africa in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year.

The competition is part of GEN Nigeria's broader initiative to connect Nigerian founders with investors and policymakers, enhancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem across Africa. Kizito Okechukwu, Executive Head of GEN Africa, described the GEC Africa as a pan-African platform aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Oluwatoyin Ahmadu, Executive Director of the Bank of Industry, emphasized the importance of supporting MSMEs for economic growth. The competition aims to create stronger connections, enabling businesses to scale and discover new opportunities, while also driving intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
