Isyaka Rabe Disputes Claims on Father's Death Cause

Isyaka Rabe, son of the late Major General Rabe, has contested the government's assertion that his father suffered from diabetes, claiming he died from a heart attack. Isyaka described his father as a deeply religious and peaceful man who lived a simple life.

He stated that the family has not been informed about the circumstances surrounding the recovery of his father's body, which has led to public inquiries following the announcement of his father's funeral. Additionally, Isyaka clarified that his mother was abducted alongside his father and remains in captivity, dismissing reports on social media that she has been released.

Major General Rabe was kidnapped on May 30, and his wife was taken on June 6, with bandits demanding the release of three detained fighters and the return of livestock allegedly seized during security operations as conditions for their freedom. President Bola Tinubu expressed sorrow over the general's death and pledged to intensify operations to bring the criminals to justice.
