Germany has outlined four critical steps that international students must complete before applying for a study visa, as detailed on the official Make It in Germany portal. The first step is confirming that academic qualifications are recognized in Germany, which can be verified through the DAAD database.

The second requirement is demonstrating language proficiency, with accepted certificates including DSH, TestDaF, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, Deutsches Sprachdiplom II, or Goethe C2. The third step involves securing admission to a German institution, which can be done through the Study in Germany database or directly with universities.

The final step is proving financial means, where students must show they can cover tuition and living costs, typically by opening a blocked account with a minimum of €11,904. Alternatively, a Declaration of Commitment from a resident in Germany may suffice.

Once these steps are completed, students can proceed with the visa application process.
