Ghanaian Footballer Domin Frimpong Killed in Robbery

Domin Frimpong, a 20-year-old forward for Berekum Chelsea FC, was tragically killed during an armed robbery attack on Sunday night. The incident took place around 10:30 PM local time along the Ahyiresu-Kwame Dwumor Sreso road in the Nyinahin District of the Southern Region, Ashanti.

Frimpong was shot and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in the hospital. The robbery, which involved masked men wielding firearms, resulted in the assailants stealing 4,500.00 cedis (approximately 408 USD) from Georg Owusu Afriyi, a 52-year-old victim.

The Ghana Football Association described the incident as a tragic loss for both Berekum Chelsea and the Ghana football community, highlighting Frimpong's promise as a young talent who embodied the spirit of the league. He had joined Berekum Chelsea FC on loan from Aduana Star FC at the beginning of the year and had played 13 games, scoring two goals for the club.
