Madina MP Francis-Xavier Sosu Collapses During Speech

Francis-Xavier Sosu, the Member of Parliament representing Madina in Ghana's Parliament, collapsed while delivering a speech at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration on Thursday. During his address, he spoke about his personal experiences, leadership, and commitment to public service.

The incident occurred shortly after he stated, “I respectfully submit that if you want to be a good leader, let service be your hallmark,” at which point he appeared to lose consciousness. Attendees quickly rushed to assist him, and a video showed two individuals helping him after he fell.

Although Sosu briefly regained consciousness and seemed ready to continue, he began to slump again, prompting further intervention. He was subsequently assisted off the stage and taken for medical attention.

As of Thursday evening, the circumstances surrounding his collapse and his condition had not been officially updated.
