APC Chairman Solomon Dies During Reconciliation Meeting

Solomon, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), collapsed during a reconciliation meeting held on Friday at Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area (LGA). The meeting was convened by Funsho Olumoko, a former chairman of Ijumu LGA, to address internal disputes and foster unity among party stakeholders ahead of future political engagements.

Reports indicate that a previous session had ended in a deadlock due to an alleged crisis in the local government leadership, leading to a walkout by Solomon, several party stakeholders, and top government officials. The follow-up meeting aimed to bridge divides by bringing together selected political leaders, local government and ward executives, as well as women and youth leaders from all 15 wards of Ijumu LGA.

Solomon received medical attention at the meeting venue but was later rushed to a hospital in Kabba, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
