Army Commanders Assess Troops in Imo State's Mother Valley

On April 5, 2023, Major General OA Fadairo, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, alongside Major General T.B. Ugiagb, Chief Army Staff Administration, visited troops deployed in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the ongoing operational activities in the area popularly referred to as Mother Valley. The team received a briefing from Lieutenant Colonel J.

Abu Dure of the 34 Artillery Brigade Garrison regarding operational successes and challenges faced by the troops during their clearance operations. The commanders conducted a guided tour of key locations, including strategic observation points overlooking Mother Valley, to evaluate the terrain and the extent of troop coverage in the area.

The visit aimed to gather firsthand information on operational activities and to support further deployment plans to deny criminal elements suspected to be linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.
