Wande Coal Credits God, Not Don Jazzy, for His Success

A throwback interview featuring Wande Coal has resurfaced online, in which he addressed the narrative that Don Jazzy is solely responsible for his music career success. Wande Coal stated that the credit belongs first to God and also to the collaboration between talented individuals.

He recounted how, in 2006, Don Jazzy and D'banj discovered him performing at a campus event and signed him to their record label, Mo'Hits, the next day. His breakthrough came in 2007 with a prominent feature on the Mo'Hits compilation album.

Wande Coal later released his debut solo album in 2009, solidifying his status among Nigeria's top artists. After Don Jazzy and D'banj parted ways in 2012, Wande Coal followed Don Jazzy to Mavin Records but left in 2013 to establish his own label, Black Diamond.
