Nigeria Cup Golf Tournament Set for September 2026

The 29th edition of the Nigeria Cup Golf tournament is scheduled to run from September 19 to 27, 2026, at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos. Mohamed Oyibo, Chairman of the event’s Organising Committee, announced at a pre-tournament press conference that this year’s tournament is themed “Born of Legacy, Built for Greatness.” The event aims to enhance the standards of competitive amateur golf, corporate hospitality, and sporting excellence in Nigeria.

Oyibo described the tournament as a mini-festival, coinciding with the nation’s Independence anniversary, and plans to transform the traditional fairways into a vibrant hospitality hub. The tournament will feature specialized game days for children, caddies, ladies, veterans, and professional golfers, culminating in a Grand Finale on Saturday.

Attendees can expect a Championship Watch Party and a formal Legacy Gala on Sunday evening, supported by corporate sponsors and lifestyle partners. Oyibo expressed gratitude to committee members, sponsors, and donors for their ongoing support.
