Nigerian Golfers Shine at Sunshine Development Tour Q-School

The Sunshine Development Tour (SDT) Qualifying School concluded in Lagos, Nigeria, where Nigerian golfer S. Franci emerged as a standout performer, finishing with a total score of 209, nine shots ahead of the competition.

This victory earned him a ticket for the 2026 DP World Tour, specifically for the Kenya Open at Karen Country Club. The event, held at Lakow Lake Golf Course, featured notable performances from other golfers, including Dzadei Barri from Ghana and Nigerian players Bako Kamalu and Okoko Godwin, who finished tied for second with a total score of 218.

Tournament director David Kihara emphasized the alignment of the event with the tour's vision to strengthen African representation in golf. Femi Olagbenro, golf manager at Lakow Lake Golf Estate, highlighted the importance of the qualifying school in supporting the growth of professional golf in the region.

The tournament included top professional golfers from West Africa, showcasing the region's talent.
