Lakowe Lakes to Host Sunshine Tour Qualifying School 2026

The Lakowe Lakes Golf Club announced it will host the Sunshine Development Tour Qualifying School from Monday, April 13, to Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria. This event marks a significant milestone in the growth of professional golf in Nigeria and across West Africa, as it will be the first time the Sunshine Tour Qualifying School is held in Nigeria.

The event aims to create a historical pathway for regional talent to access Africa's respected professional golf circuit. It is expected to attract top professional golfers from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, Senegal, and Gabon, all eager to secure a place in the prestigious Sunshine Tour event.

Femi Olagbenro, the golf manager at Lakowe Lakes Golf Estate, emphasized the event's importance in elevating golf standards and providing competitive opportunities for emerging talent. The 54-hole event is anticipated to pave the way for international tournament development in Nigeria and West Africa, offering players a chance to earn points for the official World Golf Ranking.
