Gombe APC to Select Candidates via Consensus for 2027

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided that candidates for various electoral offices in the upcoming 2027 general elections will emerge through a consensus arrangement. This decision was made during a high-level strategic meeting convened by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House in Gombe, which took place late on Tuesday night.

The meeting aimed to strengthen internal unity and promote consensus within the party. Governor Yahaya urged stakeholders to remain united and committed to the progress of the party, stressing that internal harmony is essential for sustaining electoral strength in Gombe State's political landscape.

He explained that the consensus approach is a key strategy to prevent internal divisions following primary disputes. The governor called on aspirants to prioritize the party's interests above personal ambitions and work collectively towards a transparent and peaceful candidate selection process.

Aspirants pledged their loyalty to the party leadership and expressed readiness to support the consensus arrangement.
