Ekiti State Approves N16.75bn for Infrastructure Projects

The Ekiti State Executive Council approved a budget of N16.75 billion for various road reconstruction and solar power streetlight projects during a meeting on Monday. The projects aim to enhance road infrastructure and accelerate socio-economic development in the state.

A significant allocation of N14.309 billion is designated for two major road projects in Ado Ekiti and the Ekiti South West and Ekiti West local government areas. This includes N12.576 billion for the reconstruction of an 18.83-kilometer road linking Ilaw to Erijiyan and Ikogosi, expected to improve movement and security in the area.

Additionally, N1.733 billion is allocated for the reconstruction of a 2.24-kilometer road opposite Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School, which has deteriorated significantly. The council also approved N2.063 billion for upgrading four rural roads to enhance agricultural access.

Furthermore, N381.65 million is allocated for installing solar streetlights in three strategic locations in Ado Ekiti to improve security and road safety.
