Gombe State Allocates N260m for Market Relocation

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has approved a total of N260 million for the relocation of Tudun Hatsi Market to Dukku Road. This includes N200 million allocated for the relocation and associated infrastructure, along with an additional N60 million designated as compensation for residents and traders impacted by the move.

Commissioner for Information, Moses Kyari, stated that the initiative aims to improve urban planning, traffic management, and the safety of both traders and residents. The relocation is expected to create a more suitable environment for commercial activities while considering the interests of those affected.

Kyari emphasized that the compensation reflects the government's commitment to minimizing the impact on livelihoods. Additionally, the relocation will help preserve a historical mosque located within the current market area as a state monument, contributing to better traffic management and a more organized trading environment.
