Gombe State Allocates N523m for Education and Development

The Gombe state government, under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved more than N523 million for significant interventions in education and urban commercial development. Announced by the Commissioner for Information, Moses Kiari, the funding includes N54.86 million for mock and special entrance examinations, ensuring eligible students can participate effectively.

Additionally, N118.72 million has been allocated for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), aimed at improving the administration and coordination of this crucial assessment. In the tertiary education sector, Governor Yahaya approved N148.76 million as the Consolidated Academic Staff Allowance (CATA) for academic staff at Gombe State University.

These approvals reflect the government's commitment to strengthening human capital development and enhancing the quality and accessibility of education in Gombe state.
