Gombe Deputy Governor Praises NYSC for Manpower Support

During the 53rd anniversary of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Gombe State's Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Jatau, commended corps members for their significant role in bridging manpower gaps across the state.

He acknowledged the establishment of the NYSC by General Yakubu Gowon in 1973, emphasizing its importance in fostering national unity and cultural appreciation. Jatau highlighted the ongoing need for corps members in various sectors, particularly in healthcare, where there is a shortage of civil servants.

He urged stakeholders to avoid unethical practices in the mobilization process, referencing a previous scandal in Sokoto involving fake certificates. Jatau expressed gratitude for the Gombe State government's support under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, which ensures the safety and welfare of corps members.

NYSC Coordinator Chinwe Nwachuku also praised the state government for its commitment to the corps members and looked forward to enhancing partnerships for better service delivery.
