Gombe State Partners Tunisian Firm to Solve Water Crisis

Gombe State has announced a partnership with a Tunisian firm to tackle persistent water supply challenges affecting residents. During a joint press briefing, Muhammad Said Fawu, the state administrator, emphasized the need for a combined short, medium, and long-term strategy to meet the growing water demand driven by rapid population expansion.

The partnership aims to address the irregular electricity supply, which has been a major setback in effectively pumping and distributing water to homes and businesses. The Tunisian delegation, led by Ahm Shuaibu Gara, proposed sustainable, technology-driven solutions, including the establishment of a 100 megawatt independent power plant in the state.

This initiative is expected to stabilize electricity supply, which is critical for improving water infrastructure and distribution efficiency. The Tunisian firm has experience delivering integrated water and energy projects across Africa, and their advanced technology can generate water from atmospheric moisture, complementing existing water sources.
