Hamma Saleh Challenges PDP Guber Ticket in Gombe

Hamma Saleh, a lead member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), is taking legal action regarding the party's gubernatorial ticket in Gombe State, which was recently awarded to Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy. Saleh described the announcement of Pantami as the party's flag bearer as a breach of internal party processes, alleging that proper consultations were not observed.

He expressed surprise at Pantami's emergence as the candidate, stating that he had remained loyal to the PDP for years and had purchased a nomination form in compliance with the guidelines for the gubernatorial race. Saleh emphasized that he would pursue legal options to protect his political interests and noted that Pantami, a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had previously contested for the gubernatorial ticket without success.

The situation has created tension and dissatisfaction among key stakeholders within the Gombe State chapter of the PDP, highlighting growing internal disputes as the party prepares for the upcoming general elections.
