Mailantarki Claims Victory in Gombe PDP Primary Election

In the Gombe PDP primary election, Mailantarki announced himself as the winner, disputing the results that declared Isa Ali Pantami the victor. Mailantarki referenced a Supreme Court judgment that deemed Pantami ineligible to participate in the election, asserting that he should have been the rightful winner after finishing second.

He emphasized that Pantami was still a member of the APC when the PDP screening committee cleared candidates for the primary, which was initially scheduled for May 26. Mailantarki expressed his determination to reclaim his mandate through litigation, stating he is prepared to take the matter to the Supreme Court if necessary.

His previous legal actions had already led to the annulment of Pantami's earlier victory by a Federal High Court in Gombe, which mandated a rerun primary that took place on the day of his declaration.
