PDP Criticizes Gombe Governor Over Demolitions and Evictions

The Gombe State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his administration's demolition of structures across the state, including the eviction of Gombawa Motor Park and Dankwambo Mega Motor Park. During a press conference on Tuesday, PDP's Public Relations Officer Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku characterized the governor's actions as undemocratic and contrary to the principles of good governance as outlined in the Nigerian constitution.

Dukku alleged that the demolitions were aimed at enforcing land management regulations, causing hardship for residents and businesses. He referenced a viral video where the governor's remarks were deemed disrespectful for a state chief executive.

The PDP also criticized the recent local government council elections, claiming a lack of transparency and fairness, asserting that opposition parties were not provided with sufficient electoral materials. The party called for the state government to uphold democratic values and ensure fair management of public affairs.
