PDP Criticizes Gombe Governor Over N315m Gift Allegations

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly condemned the Gombe State government led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya over allegations of misusing public funds. The PDP claims that the state government approved N315 million in gifts to a Kano-based singer, which includes N115 million for the purchase of a coaster bus and an additional cash grant of N200 million.

Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, a PDP representative, expressed deep concern regarding the expenditure of public funds, especially at a time when Gombe State is facing challenges with 787,619 school children out of school. The PDP argues that the funds could have significantly impacted educational interventions.

Furthermore, the PDP accused the Yahaya administration of allocating four plots of land in the Shehu Abubakar district layout to the singer, raising serious concerns about transparency and accountability in the use of public resources. Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director of Press Affairs for the Gombe State government, did not respond to the allegations, which he described as baseless.
