Google and UpSkill Universe Launch Free AI Skills Training

Google and UpSkill Universe have announced a partnership to offer free AI skills training in Sub-Saharan Africa, marking a significant redesign of the Hustle Academy program. This initiative, which is open to everyone rather than just business owners, aims to equip individuals and entrepreneurs with practical AI skills essential for small businesses.

The new curriculum will include short 60-minute webinars and immersive bootcamp sessions focused on immediate application in digital commerce and market growth strategies. Gori Yahaya, founder and CEO of UpSkill Universe, emphasized that the program is designed to close the AI skills gap and prepare participants for the evolving job market.

The Hustle Academy, launched in 2022, has already trained 18,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), contributing to revenue increases and job creation. The program will continue to evolve through 2026, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of its audience across Sub-Saharan Africa.
