Governor Alia Condemns Terrorist Attack in Benue Community

On Wednesday morning, a terrorist attack occurred in the Mbajir ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area in Benue State, leading to several injuries. Governor Hyacinth Alia condemned the attack, which he attributed to terrorists masquerading as herdsmen.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Tersoo Kula, Alia described the incident as a senseless assault on innocent citizens and labeled it a cowardly and unacceptable act of violence. He expressed concern that such attacks come at a crucial time when farmers are returning to their ancestral lands to cultivate crops, which are vital for food security in the state.

Alia emphasized the need for peace and progress, stating that these attacks disrupt the hopes of a bountiful harvest. He directed relevant security agencies to immediately launch a manhunt for the perpetrators of this heinous crime to ensure they are brought to justice.
