Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Reshuffles Cabinet

On Thursday, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed executed a minor cabinet reshuffle, appointing four new commissioners as his administration nears its conclusion in nine months. This decision came after some commissioners resigned to pursue political ambitions for the 2027 elections, while two others were removed.

The newly appointed commissioners are Madaki Ahmad Gololo (Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives), Bashir Yau (Ministry of Youth and Sports Development), Bashir Adamu Rishi (Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management), and Baraya Ibrahim (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment). Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of equitable representation, merit, and competence in these appointments.

He urged the new commissioners to familiarize themselves with government policies and collaborate effectively with civil servants. The governor also redeployed several existing commissioners and retained others in supervisory roles.

Baraya Ibrahim, speaking on behalf of the new appointees, expressed gratitude and commitment to the administration’s development agenda, while the governor concluded the ceremony with prayers for guidance and protection.
