Governor Eno Abolishes Combined Convocation at AKSU

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has ordered the abolition of the combined convocation ceremony at Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), directing that convocations be held when due. This directive was given during a recent visit to the university, where he emphasized the importance of timely convocations.

The combined convocation is set to take place in Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, on the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th of the month. Governor Eno, a PhD holder, appealed to the vice chancellor, Prof.

Oto Abasi Akpan, to teach courses in a newly established department focused on business development and entrepreneurial studies on a pro bono basis. He highlighted the need for practical knowledge to help students understand the principles of business development, especially for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).

The governor commended the vice chancellor for his commitment and announced that a total of 6,779 first-degree students and 746 postgraduate students would be convocated.
