Akwa Ibom Saves Over N200bn Through Financial Prudence

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State disclosed that the state saved over N200 billion on project costs by adhering to transparency and prudent financial management. During a stakeholders' meeting held at the banquet hall of the government house in Uyo, he emphasized the importance of due process in project delivery.

Eno outlined significant milestones, including the unveiling of a 350-bed Ibom International Hospital and the commencement of bi-weekly flights from Ibom Air to Accra, Ghana. He also mentioned ongoing upgrades to aviation infrastructure and the rehabilitation of maritime infrastructure, alongside the development of the Ibom deep seaport.

The administration has executed a total of 1,305 kilometers of road and 40 bridges across the state. Eno announced that the state received a $6 million reward from the World Bank for outstanding performance in budget management and governance.

He reiterated the administration's commitment to delivering on its agenda to improve the lives of Akwa Ibom people.
