Boko Haram and ISWAP Attack Adamawa, Killing 27

In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a joint operation by Boko Haram and ISWAP led to the murder of 27 people in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The attack began in the early hours, with insurgents overrunning the Shuwari and Sholi communities, killing residents and burning structures.

Among the deceased was Bademi Papka, the village head of Shuwari and a cousin of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Eyewitnesses, who spoke anonymously, reported that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and targeted the village near the market square.

Residents fled in various directions for safety as the insurgents fired sporadically. Sources indicated that military personnel were alerted to the situation, but the attack had already resulted in significant casualties.

The former chairman of the Madagali Local Government, Maina Ularamu, confirmed the incident, although casualty figures varied.
