Governor Idris Condemns Deadly Attack in Kebbi State

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris extended his condolences to the families of victims following a deadly attack in the Maiyama Local Government Area, which resulted in the loss of six lives. The attack, attributed to members of the Lakurawa sect, occurred on Wednesday night during the Isha Tarawih prayers at a mosque.

Governor Idris condemned the act as barbaric and ungodly, pledging his administration's commitment to support security agencies in ensuring the safety of citizens. He emphasized that security is a top priority for his administration and announced the mobilization of military personnel to the area to prevent future attacks and protect lives and property.

District Head Alhaji Moham Aliyu noted that the attack seemed retaliatory following recent successes of the Nigerian Army against the Lakurawa sect. He provided details of the incident, stating that three people died instantly, while three others were hospitalized, with ongoing treatment for additional victims.
