NYSC Blacklists Three Kebbi LGAs Over Security Issues

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has blacklisted three local government areas in Kebbi State: Basura, Jega, and Sakaba, due to security issues affecting the safety of corps members. Bala Dabo, the NYSC state coordinator, disclosed this during an interaction with journalists at the temporary NYSC orientation camp in Basura.

He noted that the number of corps members posted to Kebbi State has drastically decreased, with a particular shortage of doctors in state hospitals and insufficient corps members in schools. Dabo emphasized the need for the NYSC to relocate the orientation camp from Dakingari to a safer location in response to these security concerns.

Despite several appeals made to the appropriate authorities, there has been no response regarding the situation. The ongoing insecurity has raised alarms about the safety and effectiveness of the NYSC program in the affected areas.
