Governor Kefas Revives COAST Convocation After 28 Years

The College of Agriculture, Science and Technology (COAST) in Jalingo held its 17th–46th combined convocation after a 28-year hiatus, thanks to the intervention of Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas. Rector Dr. Yakubu Ali Garjila commended the governor for this landmark achievement, stating that his administration would be remembered for changing the narrative of the institution.

Garjila noted several accomplishments during this period, including the college's transition from monotechnic to polytechnic status, the accreditation of 13 additional National Diploma programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and ongoing infrastructural development. However, he also identified challenges such as inadequate accommodation, poor power supply, and a lack of school utility buses, urging the state government to approve memoranda submitted to address these issues.

Governor Kefas, represented by Hon. Kizito John Bonzena, congratulated the college's management and encouraged graduates to seek opportunities in agriculture rather than relying solely on government jobs.
