Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Celebrated with Award

On Tuesday, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba received the Blueprint Newspaper’s Inclusive Development and Social Integration Award for his service delivery, prompting celebrations across the state capital, Jalingo, and other towns. The jubilation began at the Government House roundabout, with citizens, including youth, civil servants, market women, and politicians, chanting “AK27!” They expressed their satisfaction with Kefas's administration, highlighting improvements in education, security, agriculture, and health.

Peter Kunilau, a politician from Kunini Ward in Lau, commended Kefas for his inclusive governance, noting that he is the only governor in the North East currently paying a minimum wage of 70,000 naira to civil servants. Additionally, he mentioned the payment of outstanding gratuities and pensions, and the provision of free education for pupils and students in tertiary institutions.

Civil servant Paul Biyaku also praised the governor for facilitating massive recruitment into the state civil service since taking office.
